Aline Plançon

After beginning her career in the French National Police, she joined INTERPOL in 2004, where she held various positions in criminal analysis, intellectual property, health and global security.

Her career path led her to participate in several international missions, including the 2004 tsunami victim identification operations in Sri Lanka and the United Nations International Independent Investigation Commission (UNIIIC) in Lebanon in 2005.

As head of the intellectual property crime unit, she represented INTERPOL in G7 proceedings and contributed to creating INTERPOL’s first international database developed in partnership with the private sector in this field.

From 2008, she represented INTERPOL at the World Health Organization and led INTERPOL’s unit dedicated to combating pharmaceutical crime. She contributed to developing international strategies, capacity-building programmes and operations involving law enforcement, health authorities and partners.

She also coordinated the first international Pangea operations against the illegal online sale of medicines, an initiative that gradually expanded to include 115 countries.

She was appointed INTERPOL representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and then headed INTERPOL’s Health and Global Security sub-directorate from 2012 to 2016.

Her experience led her to conduct operations, training and international cooperation initiatives in more than 80 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

She contributed to establishing the first public-private partnership between INTERPOL and 25 of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies to strengthen the fight against illicit health products.

Between 2019 and 2022, she held senior corporate security and safety roles for the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR) region at Dassault Systèmes.

Since 2016, she has been developing consulting activities and supporting organisations, institutions and private actors on health, security, risk management and international cooperation issues.

In 2020, she published Faux médicaments, un crime silencieux (Fake medicines, a silent crime) by Éditions du Cerf.
